Forest Foundation Philippines Approves Over PHP 8 M in Grants During its 2022 Q1 BOT Meeting

During its first quarterly meeting for 2022, the Forest Foundation Philippines’ Board of Trustees (BOT) approved over PHP 8 M in medium grants to conserve, protect, and sustainably manage the country’s most critical forest landscapes.

The approved proposals are listed below:

  1. Philippine Parks and Biodiversity Conservation Service’s Rewilding Mt. Balagbag through Reforestation, Forest Protection, and Community Empowerment project
  2. Environmental Legal Assistance Center’s Environmental Defense to Enable Participatory Environmental Governance project

In 2017, Forest Foundation launched its 5-Year Grant Program. The overall, long-term goal of the Program is the protection and sustainable management of Philippine forests and its biodiversity. Since 2017, the Foundation has approved over 300 grants, in small, medium and large amounts, totalling around PHP 700 M.

Forest Foundation, established in 2002 under the Tropical Forest Conservation Agreements signed by the governments of the United States of America and the Philippines, is a non-profit organization that provides grants and technical assistance to organizations that empower the people to protect and conserve the forests.
