Forest Foundation Philippines and Hospeco Philippines Launch One Project Care

Forest Foundation Philippines and Hospeco Philippines Inc. (HPI), one of the country’s leading hygiene and cleaning companies, inked a partnership on May 15, 2023 to launch One Project Care.

HPI, under the newly-launched One Project C.A.R.E. (Conservation of Air and Restoration of Environment), has pledged its alliance with the Foundation as it promotes the use of 100% fully recycled tissue products over the conventional white virgin pulp tissue papers, which are produced by harvesting over 40 million trees daily.

One Project CARE’s mission is to minimize deforestation by providing better alternative recycled tissue paper to consumers, promote awareness on how to reduce carbon footprint, and save as much of our environment one planted tree at a time.

Richie Laguda, HPI’s Country Manager, said that the initiative to create One Project CARE and make a difference in helping restore the environment has always been a genuine advocacy of the company. This was evident in HPI’s gradual shift to hygiene products that are recycled, environmentally-safe, and eco-friendly since a decade ago.

By joining hands with Forest Foundation Philippines, under the leadership of its Executive Director, Atty. Jose Andres Canivel, both organizations now have a clear purpose and specific locations where to start the process of restoring the land through annual joint tree-growing initiatives, which will be funded through a certain percentage from every box of recycled tissue supplied to the market. Laguda ended his speech by saying, “We believe we have a choice. This is our choice, to make a change, one conscious step at a time.”

Atty. Canivel added, “The trust and support of Hospeco Philippines allows us to scale up our forest conservation activities in the country’s most critical forests. Through this project, we will be planting around 500 seedlings annually in the next three years to protect and conserve Sierra Madre. Our work will focus on restoring forests in Quirino and Rizal to ensure the protection of our watersheds. We are grateful to have Hospeco as one of our partners.”
