Building the Next Generation of Forest Advocates: Learning Materials for Young Best Friends of the Forest

In a world where environmental concerns loom large, fostering a deep-rooted love for forests in the hearts of our children is pivotal. As guardians of tomorrow’s world, it’s crucial to instill a sense of responsibility and admiration for our natural resources early on. In the past years, we have supported several innovative and engaging initiatives by our grantees and partners that aim to inspire and educate the next generation about the importance of forests. Here are some of them:

1. The City Wild Flash Cards by The Ateneo Wild

These captivating flashcards offer a unique way to introduce kids to the wonders of urban wildlife. From colorful illustrations to fascinating facts, these cards from The Ateneo Wild provide an interactive and fun learning experience about the diverse creatures that inhabit our cities. 2. Earth Rangers Handbook by Rags2Riches 

The Earth Rangers Handbook by Rags2Riches, in partnership with Where to Next?, is an incredible resource filled with engaging activities and worksheets. It empowers young children to start their journeys as Earth Rangers by introducing them to concepts and providing them learning activities that foster a deeper understanding of environmental conservation. 3. “Can We Live without Trees?” Book in Partnership with Adarna House

In collaboration with Adarna House, this thought-provoking book dives into the significance of trees in our lives. Through a beautifully crafted narrative, it sheds light on the valuable role trees play in sustaining life, inviting children to ponder their crucial importance in our world. 4. Puno ng Buhay Series by Knowledge Channel

The Puno ng Buhay series, presented by Knowledge Channel, unfolds an educational journey exploring the wonders of forests and their biodiversity. Through captivating videos, it educates and inspires students from Grades 3 to 12 to understand the intricate balance of life within these lush ecosystems. 5. Kwentong Kalikasan series by AYEJ
