Makati City, Philippines — As Forest Foundation Philippines (FFP) celebrates its 20th anniversary, the organization recently reached a historic milestone in terms of its grant approvals. During its third Board of Trustees (BOT) Meeting for the year, the Foundation approved over PhP 104 million in grants, the largest approval this year, and among the biggest in the Foundation’s history.
These newly approved grants are distributed across its two programs: the Tropical Forest Conservation Fund II (TFCFII) and the Philippines-Canada Partnership on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Adaptation (PCP4NbS) Program.
The TFCFII is financed through the debt-for-nature swap agreement between the governments of the Philippines and the United States of America, which provides long-term funding support and technical assistance for forest protection and sustainable management initiatives in the country. On the other hand, the PCP4NbS Program is funded by Global Affairs Canada, supporting projects that harness natural ecosystems to strengthen climate resilience.
