Forest Foundation Philippines Approves Over PHP 39 Million in Grants in its Second Board of Trustees Meeting for 2024

The Board of Trustees (BOT) of Forest Foundation Philippines recently approved over PHP 37 million in grant proposals aimed at protecting, conserving, and sustainably managing the country’s most critical forest landscapes during its second meeting of 2024.

The approved grants include:

  1. Empowered Community for the Forest 2.0 by Miriam College Environmental Studies Institute 
  2. Strengthening the Protection and Conservation Efforts Within the CBFM in Coron for Continued Watershed Services by Coron Watershed Beneficiaries Association – Agroforestry Multi-Purpose Cooperative 
  3. Grow Talabaan Project Phase 2: Sustainable Conservation of the Natural Resources and Climate Change Impact Mitigation in the Talabaan Watershed Through Integrative Watershed Management by MSU-Naawan Foundation for Science and Development
  4. Completing a National Species Action Plan through Stakeholder-led Population Viability Analyses for the Philippine Eagle by Philippine Eagle Foundation
  5. Third National Protected Area Conference (3NPAC) by Tanggol Kalikasan

On March 21, 2023, in celebration of the International Day of Forests, Forest Foundation launched its Results Framework 2023-2027. This framework leverages the Foundation’s grantmaking experience and follows a sustainable landscape approach. It emphasizes collective and transformative actions by public, private, and civil society stakeholders to protect and conserve Philippine forests, while addressing the climate crisis.

Forest Foundation works with its grantees and partners to sustainably manage forests for water, land, and biodiversity, and to foster forest-related climate action. Its focal landscapes include Sierra Madre, Palawan, Samar and Leyte, and Mindanao. Through this Framework, Forest Foundation is committed to enhancing the relationship between people and forests, ensuring its sustainability for future generations.
