Manila, Philippines — Forest Foundation Philippines, through the Philippines-Canada Partnership on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Adaptation (PCP4NbS), officially opened its Request for Proposals (RFP) for site-based grants in Camarines Sur on June 29, 2025, focusing on harnessing the power of nature to strengthen the climate resilience of communities, as well as coastal and marine ecosystems.
The Program calls for community-based and gender-responsive NbS project proposals to reduce vulnerability and increase resilience to climate change impacts in the municipality of Siruma, Camarines Sur. This is the Program’s first Site-based Grant that will accept proposals for coastal and marine NbS projects.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) for Site-based Grants in Camarines Sur can be accessed in English and Filipino. Proposals will be accepted until July 21, 2025. Learn more about PCP4NbS grants: pcp4nbs.forestfoundation.ph.
The program could fund two to three (2-3) projects in Camarines Sur, from Php 2 to 6 million for each project, to be implemented for up to two (2) years. Eligible proponents include Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), People’s Organizations (POs), and other community-based organizations registered and active in the Philippines.
NbS are cost-effective actions that protect, regenerate, and enhance ecosystems while responding to the community’s well-being and safeguarding biodiversity. To ensure gender-responsive NbS implementation, the Program conducted baseline Vulnerability Risk Assessment (VRA), Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus), and Marine Biodiversity Assessment within the Buang and Delehi River Watersheds..
Proposed NbS projects should respond to the results of the baselines, as indicated in the RFP, addressing the hazards, vulnerabilities, and risks experienced by communities in the target sites. Projects that will facilitate community-led NbS, and equitable access of women and men in managing natural resources, as well as strengthening women’s capacities and leadership, will be prioritized.
The Government of Canada committed PhP 332 million (CA$8 million) for the Program, a fund managed by Forest Foundation Philippines, to support local organizations in implementing holistic, community-based, and gender-responsive initiatives based on NbS principles, in areas rich in biodiversity and vulnerable to climate impacts in the country.
